Blog Post #38 Date/Time for Filming

Today I am choosing the Date/Time that I am using to film for my film' opening two minutes






The Date that I have chosen is Friday, February twenty-eighth. This is because I have no sports planned for this day and my schedule has an opening after my school hours. The actors that I have chosen for my film are also available for filming this day with little to no disruption in the process. This makes it easier for me to film on this day also because of the clear and sunny weather outside, which is crucial for my filming process because it will be taken outside. If the date selected was supposed to be rain filled it will make the Mise-en-Scene in film worse because of the wet actors not seeming more realistic to the viewer. The camera will also have problems with water landing on the lens, hence ruining the shots. But the most important aspect would be the lack of key light and lack of filler light, this can make the filming process impossible due to the lack of overall lighting in the scenes being filmed. Also with the lack of lighting it can cause a lack of emotion in the film due to the actors faces being covered in rain




The Time that I have selected is around two p.m. to five p.m. This is because it is directly after my school time and it makes it more accessible to my actors since all of them go to the same school. This time also is during the middle of the day and this allows for the best use of lighting and it is most accessible time for lighting. This time also helps with my schedule and my actors schedule because everyone had to attend a banquet at six that day. So in turn two to five worked out the best for everyone on this day. It is important to make sure that all of your actors are available because of the tight schedule in the filming process. Getting all of the filming process done in a single day is crucial towards being able to keep the same narrative of the film and retain filming ideas that one can have. This can help make the film seem more fluid and realistic because of the same day/time filming.

Blog Post #6 Sports in Film

Today I will be analyzing The Longest Yard, which is a Sports Films and how it is good at helping convey the other genres in that film through its different micro elements, specifically Mise-en-Scene. The Longest Yard The Longest Yard is a football movie that is centered around a star quarterback who got into trouble with the law, this getting him arrested. Then this brings up the location which is centered in a prison with the quarterback ("Paul Crewe", The main character) having to put together a football team to compete with the guards of that prison.
