Blog Post #32 Actors Part: One

 Today I will be talking about the actors being used in my film




The main actor in my film is Cyle Canales and he will be filling in the role of Saquon, this is through his resemblance of my idea of Saquon that was expressed in my first blog post. Also, it is through his current basketball experience with many scenes throughout the film being centered around playing basketball. Cyle also helps with the representation in my film because of his Panamanian lineage. This can help my film also reach more of an audience of Panamanians because of his ethnic background. Cyle also has been a close friend of mine so this will make it easier for the shots to be filmed with little complaint from the actor.




The next actor is Kasey McCloud, I chose Kasey because of his basketball experience and acting experience with him commonly acting in films throughout the school. Kasey also helps with the representation of the film through his ethnic background. Kasey will be filling the role of one of Saquon's teammates and his opponent during the opening sequence of my film. Kasey is known for his defense when he plays basketball, so using this to my advantage I was able to set him up as the main defender in the opening sequence of my film.

Blog Post #6 Sports in Film

Today I will be analyzing The Longest Yard, which is a Sports Films and how it is good at helping convey the other genres in that film through its different micro elements, specifically Mise-en-Scene. The Longest Yard The Longest Yard is a football movie that is centered around a star quarterback who got into trouble with the law, this getting him arrested. Then this brings up the location which is centered in a prison with the quarterback ("Paul Crewe", The main character) having to put together a football team to compete with the guards of that prison. This is because the prison wants to humiliate the prisoners and make it seem as though they are nothing compared to the guards of the prison, it will also re-assure the public about their prison security and their overall security system.
