Blog Post #43 Behind The Scenes Part: Four

Today I will be continuing on the topic of shots that I have researched to be the most efficient in film and how I will use them.

This is because it becomes easier to convey the plot by introducing the characters in a long-shot, these long-shots to open a scene can help introduce the audience to the setting of the following the scene and also the characters that are going to be represented. For example for my opening shot at the characters, I was able to incorporate the scenery in the shot too. This is because of the use of the long shot, this helped me add a sense of setting and Mise-en-Scene along with identifying the characters in the scene.

The use of Two-Person shots in my film helped better express emotions in the conversations between the actors. This also helps the audience better understand the idea that is being discussed between the characters in that specific scene. For example this occurs when the scout and the coach are discussing the capabilities of Saquon at the college level of basketball. This in turn makes it much easier for the audience to understand this topic through the two-person shot that I was able to use.

So I the way that I have incorporated these aspects into my film is through the use of long-shots in order to convey the setting and scenery in the opening shot and also the uses of two person shots to convey the dialogue and emotions between characters. This can help my film perform well in the categories of dialogue between actors and the setting of the scenes. Also the long-shots in my scene helped me introduce the audience to the beginning of a sequence, for example at the start of my film the long shot helps introduce four characters to the audience. Including the upcoming action sequences which is them playing basketball.
