Blog Post #4 Zion Williamson

Image
For this blog I will be discussing an NBA player who had to go through the same stress as our main character Saquon, his name is Zion Williamson. Zion Willaimson was born and raised in Salisbury,   North Carolina. Zion wasn't always the tallest kid with him being just 5, 9 entering his summer of freshman year in high school but then over that summer he grew to be 6, 3. This drastic change made it so that he was looked at differently by coaches as less of a bench and role player but more as a offensive unit of a player. This change had to have been very stressful for Zion with him having to change his role on his team so quickly. This should be in comparison with Saquon who is expected to be his team's star player. Saquon has also taken on some other troubles with his team and him not cooperating. This leading to him looking like a worse player on the court. After a fairly impressive freshman season, Zion started training to become great and he also grew to 6,6. This increase...

Blog Post #3 Inspiration

Image
This blog will be about my   Inspiration for this film! The Movies/TV shows that inspired me to create this film include "Swagger", "Shooting Stars", and "Hustle. These basketball movies and TV shows have all of the key genre elements that are going to go into my film. breaking down these films and TV shows one by one is the simplest way to analyze each of these media sources and how their ideas will contribute to my film. The first movie that will contribute to my film is the Netflix original "Hustle". This movie will help contribute to the main plot of this movie which is the stress and hard work that goes into making it to the NBA and completing your dreams. This movie takes place in the present days of basketball, this movie is about a scout trying to help a talented young athlete from Spain make it to the NBA. This movie uses the bright lighting of the basketball court to express that the spotlight is on the athlete when they are on the court, ...

Blog Post #2 Genre

Image
For this blog I will be discussing the Genre! The Genre of the movie is the most important part of it, it can help the director find a target audience and subject different marketing strategies. The Genre of the movie also helps the viewer understand what the narrative will be. The Genres I am basing my movie around is Sports, Drama, and Action. This is because these Genres are able to captivate an audience and help them stay engaged with the plot and the character's development throughout the movie. This compares to the movie "The Blind Side" The reason why I chose the sports Genre is because the emotion and effort that is displayed by athletes throughout the world and if displayed properly can lead to an emotional movie with a lot of suspense. The sport that I'm doing is basketball, this is because the sport is very energetic and has many moments of suspense and drama. This sport also has a very large use of representation with most athletes in this sport being mino...

Blog Post #1 Final Project Idea

Image
Welcome to my AS level Media Studies blog! My Final Project Idea is a basketball movie starring Saquon Ramirez, who is a talented, young athlete who plays for the Bell Creek Cobras AAU and High School team. *Concept of what player will look like.  Saquon is so good, he starts to attract attention from bigger schools, specifically the college scout Robert Levy. This attention leads to them coming to a outdoor basketball game where some of Saquon's teammates are there playing with him. After Saquon has a great game and was done celebrating with his teammate after his ankle breaking shot, a college scout approaches him and offers him a spot on the team. Saquon says that he was going to think about it but while he was talking to the coach, his teammates spot him and start to resent him a bit.   *College Scout talking to player (actual image is the Duke Head Coach talking to a player)  But the Bell Creek Coaches and players see this and become a bit skeptical of Saquon. So thr...
